Exporting an EPS from InDesign

This document contains instructions on how to export a EPS file from Adobe InDesign. InDesign has an export feature that makes creating EPS files very easy.

  • Step 1 - Open the InDesign document you wish to create an EPS from. Once the file is fully prepared and samples have been printed, select the File menu and locate the export button.

  • Step 2 - Selecting the export button will open a new window that offers export options. In this window you will need to select the destination of your file and the file type. At the bottom of the window you will see a dropdown labeled Save as Type -- make sure that is set to EPS. Once your file name, destination, and file type are set, click Save.

  • Step 3 - After you click Save, you will be given another window with export options. The only setting that needs to be changed from the standard InDesign defaults is in the Advanced tab. Under Transparency Flattener options, change the Style drop down to High Resolution. Once changed, click the Export button at the bottom of the window and your EPS file will be finished and ready to send to BCT.
