Exporting an EPS from Pagemaker
|
This document contains instructions on how to export a EPS file from Adobe Pagemaker. Exporting EPS files from Pagemaker requires that you have a postscript printer driver and corresponding PPD file. Without a postscript printer driver, you will not have access to the print options needed to export an EPS.
-
Step 1 -
Open the Pagemaker document you wish to create an EPS from. Once the file is fully prepared and samples have been printed, select the print command. Next, select the Color button and make the document a composite.

-
Step 2 -
If you have a postscript printer driver loaded, you will see the Options button on the right side of the print window. Select the Options button and you will be given a new list of options. On the lower half of the options screen you will see the postscript settings. Click the Write to Postscript button and you will be given three more options just below. Click the EPS button, and use the Browse button and associated field to name and find the suitable location to save your EPS file.

-
Step 3 -
This step is critical to the success of your EPS file, and it is critical that this always be the last step. Just above the Browse button you will see a drop down option called Download Fonts. This option is used to embed the fonts that have been used in your Pagemaker document into the exported EPS. Change the Download Fonts option to Postscript and Truetype. Once set, you are ready to export your EPS. Click the Save button in the top right of the Print window and Pagemaker will proceed as if it were printing the document. Once Pagemaker is finished, your EPS file is ready to send to BCT.
