Exporting a PDF from Illustrator
|
This document contains instructions on how to export a PDF file from Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator has a save feature that makes creating PDF files very easy.
-
Step 1 -
Open the Illustrator document you wish to create a PDF from. Once the file is fully prepared and samples have been printed, select the File menu and locate the Save button.

-
Step 2 -
Selecting the Save button will open a new window that offers save options. In this window you will need to select the destination of your file and the file type. At the bottom of the window you will see a drop down labeled Save as Type -- make sure that is set to PDF. Once your file name, destination, and file type are set, click Save.

-
Step 3 -
After you click Save, you will be given another window with save options. The standard settings should be all you need for your PDF file, but it is a good idea to double check a couple of options. The Options Set drop down at the top of the window should be set to Default, and check the Options section to make sure the Embed All Fonts button is selected. If both of those options are set correctly then click OK at the top of the window and your PDF file should be ready to send to BCT.
